Our health and wellness programs aim to provide women and children with access to high-quality healthcare services, helping them lead healthier lives and take charge of their futures. Presently, our foundation is implementing the CRDB Bank Marathon program to raise funds to support our health initiatives.
The CRDB Bank Marathon is an annual charity race organized by the CRDB Bank Foundation to unite individuals, groups, and institutions in fighting non-communicable diseases and addressing healthcare challenges in our community.
The marathon features multiple events, including a 65km race for cyclists and 42km, 21km, 10km, and 5km races for runners. Since its inception in 2020, the marathon has raised over TZS 1.2 billion to support the health sector in Tanzania, including both Mainland and Zanzibar
The impact of this event is immeasurable, and it’s heartwarming to see so many individuals, groups, and institutions coming together for such a noble cause.
At CRDB Bank Foundation, we are deeply committed to combating climate change and promoting environmental sustainability. Through a range of initiatives and partnerships, we strive to make a positive impact on Tanzania’s environment and contribute to global efforts to address climate challenges.
The Jakaya Kikwete Cardiac Institute (JKCI) has established Tanzania’s first cardiac surgery program. It is actively involved in research, training, and collaboration with international partners to improve the country’s cardiac care quality.
Thanks to funding from the CRDB Bank Marathon, over 400 children from economically challenged families and households have received surgical treatment for various cardiac conditions in the past four years. This remarkable achievement is a testament to the power of collaboration and generosity.
The CRDB Bank Marathon has raised TZS 550 million over the past two years to support CCBRT’s efforts to provide maternal and newborn care to expectant mothers in high-risk pregnancies. This is a crucial initiative that aims to reduce the high maternal and newborn mortality rates in Tanzania and improve the quality of healthcare for women and their babies. Thanks to the Bank’s donation, 240 women with high-risk pregnancies received the proper care they needed to ensure the safety of both the mother and child. This included 1,904 prenatal clinics and 814 postnatal clinics.
